Date: Wednesday 27 March 2013
Time: 9:00 am – 12:30 pm
Venue: John Snow Lecture Theatre, LSHTM, Keppel Street, London, WC1E 7HT, UK
Type of event: Launch

In recent years the Lancet has drawn attention to important developments in health and health policy taking place in parts of the world that would otherwise risk being overlooked, publishing series that examine in depth what is happening in countries such as China, Mexico, Brazil and Japan among others. Now, it is coming home, looking at what is happening on its own doorstep, in the continent of Europe. In a series undertaken in association with the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies, it is exploring the rich natural laboratory that Europe provides to study the determinants of population health and the effects of health policy.

This symposium will launch this series and will include presentations by some of the lead authors and an opportunity to discuss where next for European health policy. It will be of interest to all those with an interest in international health and health policy.
